This policy describes the ways that Mercury Communications Group, LLC d/b/a Peer Donation (referred to hereafter as “Peer Donation,” “we,” “our” or “us”) collects, stores, uses and protects your personal information. You accept this policy when you sign up for or use our services or any other features, technologies or functionalities offered by us on our website or through any other means (collectively the “Peer Donation Services”). We may amend this policy at any time by posting a revised version of the Peer Donation website. The revised version will be effective as of the date and time that we post it. In the event that the revised version includes a substantial change, we will send you notice via email prior to posting the new policy on our website.

How we use cookies

When you access our website, we, or third parties that we engage to track how our website is used, may place small data files called “cookies” on your computer. We and our service providers also use cookies to customize the Peer Donation Services, content and advertising; measure promotional effectiveness, and promote trust and safety.

We send a “session cookie” to your computer when you log into your Peer Donation account (“Account”) or otherwise use the Peer Donation Services. This type of cookie helps us to recognize you if you visit multiple pages on our site during the same session, so that we don’t need to ask you for your password on each page. Once you log out or close your browser, this cookie expires and no longer has any function.  We also use longer-lasting cookies for other purposes such as to display your email address on our sign-in form, so that you don't need to retype the email address each time you log in to your Account.

We encode our cookies so that only we can interpret the information stored in them. You are free to decline our cookies if your browser permits, but doing so may interfere with your use of our website. We may also collect information about your computer or other access device to mitigate risk and for fraud prevention purposes.

You may encounter cookies from third parties when using the Peer Donation Services on websites that we do not control (for example, if you view a web page created by a third party or use an application developed by a third party, there may be a cookie placed by that web page or application.)

How we collect information about you

When you visit the Peer Donation website or use the Peer Donation Services, we collect your IP address and standard web log information, such as your browser type and the pages you accessed on our website.  If you open an Account or use the Peer Donation Services, we may collect the following types of information:

• Contact and other information – your first, middle and last name; mailing address, phone, email, Skype ID credit, date of birth, tax identification number, Peer Donation user name, Peer Donation password, etc.

• Financial information - the full bank account numbers and/or debit and/or credit card details (including card type, card number and expiry date) that you link to your Account or give us when you use the Peer Donation Services.

• Demographic and profile data (e.g., age, gender and income level) may also be collected at our site. We use such data to improve our marketing and promotional efforts, to statistically analyze site usage, to improve our content and product offerings and to customize our site’s content, layout, and services.

Additionally, this data may be shared with advertisers or other third parties solely on an aggregated basis.  We do not share any personally identifying information with any third party without your consent, except to a court or governmental agency if required by law.

Before permitting you to use the Peer Donation Services, we may require you to provide additional information that we can use to verify your identity, or address or manage risk, such as your date of birth, tax identification number and/or other information. We may also obtain information about you from third parties such as credit bureaus and identity verification services.

When you are using the Peer Donation Services, we collect information about your transactions and your other activities on our website or using the Peer Donation Services and we may collect information about your computer or other access device for fraud prevention purposes.

With respect to personal information that it receives from the European Union (EU), Peer Donation abides by the Safe Harbor framework agreed to by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the EU. For additional information regarding the Safe Harbor Program, see the U.S. Dept. of Commerce web site athttp://www.export.gov/safeharbor. Because Peer Donation complies with the Safe Harbor Principles, Peer Donation transfers of such data from EU countries to the United States meet the adequacy requirements of the EU Data Protection Directive.

Our Site is for adults and usage by children is not intended. We make efforts to verify the age of our users in order to avoid collecting personal information from children, and do not seek to collect personal information about children through our Site. If a child submits information to us through any part of our Site, and we know that the user submitting the information is a child, we delete the information as soon as we discover it and do not use it for any purpose, nor do we disclose it to third parties.

How we protect and store personal information

Throughout this policy, we use the term “personal information” to describe information the contact information and financial information that can be associated with a specific person and can be used to identify that person. We do not consider personal information to include information that has been generalized or made anonymous so that it does not identify a specific user.

We store and process your personal information on our computers and in our software.  We protect it by maintaining physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations. We use computer safeguards such as firewalls and data encryption, we enforce physical access controls to our buildings and files, and we authorize access to personal information only for those employees who require it to fulfill their job responsibilities.

All information provided to Peer Donation is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. SSL is a proven coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before you send it to us. We also protect account information by placing it on a secure portion of our Site that is only accessible by certain qualified employees of Peer Donation. Unfortunately, however, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of such information.

How we use the personal information that we collect

Our primary purpose in collecting personal information is to make your use of the Peer Donation website and Peer Donation services as efficient as possible. We may use your personal information to, among other things:

• Provide the Peer Donation Services and customer support that you request;

• Process transactions and send notices about your transactions;

• Prevent potentially prohibited or illegal activities, and enforce our User Agreement;

• Customize, measure, and improve the Peer Donation Services and the content and layout of our website and applications;

• Deliver targeted marketing, service update notices, and promotional offers based on your communication preferences; and

• Compare information for accuracy and verify it with third parties.

Choice/Opt-Out

Peer Donation provides users with the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us at any time. Peer Donation gives users the following options for removing their information from our database to not receive future communications.

• You can email us at webmaster@peerdonation.com.

• You can click on the “unsubscribe” link included at the bottom of your email and follow the instructions on the web page.

Our unsubscribe requests are processed immediately.

Marketing

We don't sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent. We may combine your information with information that we collect from other companies and use it to improve and personalize the Peer Donation Services, content and advertising. If you don't wish to receive marketing communications from us or participate in our ad-customization programs, please indicate that decision by logging into your Account and adjusting your preferences, or by following the directions provided within the communication or advertisement.  We will send you email newsletters; however you can opt-out at any time as all newsletters from Peer Donation include the option to unsubscribe.

How we share personal information with other Peer Donation users

To process your donations, we may share some of your personal information with the person or company to which you are making donations. Your contact information, date of sign-up, the number of donations that you have made, and whether you have verified control of a bank account are provided to other Peer Donation users that you transact with through our website or the Peer Donation Services. In addition, this information and other information may also be shared with third parties when you use these third parties to access the Peer Donation Services. Unless you have agreed to it, these third parties are not allowed to use this information for any purpose other than to enable the Peer Donation Services.

We may also provide the recipient of your donations with your confirmed credit card billing address to help complete your transaction. The recipient is not allowed to use this information to market its services to you unless you have agreed to it. If an attempt to make your donation fails, or is later invalidated, we may also provide the recipient with details of the unsuccessful donation.

We work with third parties to enable them to accept or facilitate donations from or to you. In doing so, a third party may share information about you with us, such as your email address or mobile phone number to inform you that a donation is sent to you or when you attempt to make a donation. We use this information where you are donating to confirm that you are a Peer Donation user and that Peer Donation can be enabled, or where a donation is sent to you, to send you notification that you have received the donation. Also, if you request that we validate your status as a Peer Donation user with a third party, we will do so. Please note that parties that make donations to you might have their own privacy policies.  Peer Donation is not and shall not be held responsible for the operations, including, but not limited to, the information practices, of those parties.

How we share personal information with other parties

We may share your personal information with:

• Service providers that we engage to help us with parts of our business operations such as fraud prevention, donation collection, and technology services. The terms of such engagement dictate that these service providers only use your information in connection with the services they perform for us and not for their own benefit.

• Banking partners as required by credit card association rules.

• Companies that we merge with or are acquired by in the event of merger or sale. In the event that either occurs, we will require that the new combined entity follow this privacy policy with respect to your personal information. If your personal information could be used contrary to this policy, you will receive prior notice.

• Law enforcement, government officials or other third parties when we are compelled to do so by a subpoena, court order or similar legal procedure, need to do so to comply with law or credit card rules and/or believe in good faith that the disclosure of personal information is necessary to prevent physical harm or financial loss, to report suspected illegal activity, or to investigate violations of our User Agreement.

• Other third parties with your consent or direction to do so.

If you open an Account directly on a third party website or via a third party application, any information that you enter onto that website or application (and not directly on a Peer Donation website) will be shared with the owner of the third party website or application and your information may be subject to their privacy policies.

How you can access or change your personal information

You can review and edit your personal information at any time by logging in to your account and changing the information that you previously entered.

Our Site contains links to other websites. Please note that when you click on one of these links, you are entering another website for which Peer Donation has no responsibility. We encourage you to read the privacy statements on all such sites as their policies may be different than ours.

Client Engagement Principles

Peer Donation is committed to serving the entire charitable community. Our users include charities, educational institutions, faith-based organizations, humanitarian groups, political campaigns, health organizations, advocacy groups, many others and individuals and entities donating to the foregoing. Peer Donation is non-partisan and does not take a position on its clients' missions, beliefs or advocacy objectives. Peer Donation seeks to work with organizations that share our commitment to equal opportunity and nondiscrimination. Peer Donation will not work with groups that promote violence, hatred, or racial or religious intolerance. Peer Donation will exercise its judgment in determining whether an organization violates the spirit of these principles. In addition, the use of Peer Donation products or services for illegal purposes or in connection with activities that the company determines to be harmful to its reputation may be grounds for Peer Donation to terminate its relationship with a customer.
